Poster Arc de Triomphe
21,00€ – 31,00€
Let’s go and admire the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, in this original work by Lotza, which is a monument located at the end of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It was commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806 to celebrate the victories of the French army, but was not completed until after his fall in 1836. It was built by the architect Jean Chalgrin.
The Arc de Triomphe is 50 metres high, 45 metres wide and 22 metres deep. It is decorated with bas-reliefs and sculptures celebrating the battles and campaigns of the French Empire. The most famous of these sculptures is the bas-relief of La Marseillaise, which depicts French soldiers marching to victory.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located under the Arc de Triomphe, which pays tribute to the French soldiers who died for their country in the First World War. There is a spiral staircase inside the Arc de Triomphe that leads to an observation platform, from where you can have a great view of Paris.
The Arc de Triomphe is also the starting and finishing point of the famous Formula 1 car race, the French Grand Prix. Today it is a symbol of France and its military history, and is a popular tourist attraction in Paris.
